Born on September 18, 1977, in Moheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar, Mohammad Kamal Uddin is a dedicated Bangladeshi artist and educator. He completed his BFA in 2005 (1st Class Second) and MFA in 2007 (1st Class First) from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka.
His works primarily focus on the human figure, exploring themes of memory, identity, and human connection. Deeply inspired by the coastal landscapes of his birthplace, he blends technical skill with emotional depth in his paintings.
As an Assistant Professor, he passionately mentors students, emphasizing strong observational skills, discipline, and personal artistic expression.
Kamal Uddin has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions, including the National Art Exhibition, Asian Art Biennale, and shows in India, Nepal, Japan, Maldives, and the Netherlands. He has received several awards, including the Dipa Haque Award and Best Award in Experimental Painting.
His art invites viewers to reflect on shared humanity through sensitive portrayals of the human form.
